Focus on the Future
The late, great John R. Caldon often remarked: “You’re old to the extent that you spend most of your time thinking about the past. And young to the extent that what excites you most is what you’re doing next.”
Focus on the future and only occasionally glance at the past.
This is why your car’s windscreen is so much larger than the rear view mirror. Where you’re going is much more important than where you have been.
And this is also why, whenever John was asked which deal he was most proud of, he invariably replied – with a wink and a smile – “The next one.”
