Be Like Nadal: Fight Every Point with Relentless Heart

A note to young leaders. Be like Nadal.
There is no dishonour in defeat. The dishonour is to lose not having spent every last bit of your will and energy in the arena.

To understand what I mean, watch Nadal play, especially in a match where he is being out-played. Take, for example, the 2022 Australian Open final against Medvedev.

In effect, Nadal said to Medvedev: “To beat me, you have to win the last point of the match – and I sure as hell won’t make that easy for you. You may beat me, but not without me forcing you to work damn hard every single point, up to and including the very last point.”

A never-say-die competitive spirit is a thing of beauty. It’s not just the winning, it’s the growing.
