Money Flows to Good Deals: A Lesson for Young Entrepreneurs
A note to young entrepreneurs. Lessons from my father.
I once objected: “Dad, why are we looking at this deal? We don’t have the money to do it. It’s a waste of time.”
I’ll never forget my father’s response because it has since defined my career:
“Never worry about the money, son. Just make sure your deal is a good deal. Money will flow to a good deal like a river flows to the sea.”
Then came his characteristic lion-hearted laugh.
Worrying upfront about where the money will come from kills creative thought and shuts down opportunities.
The better question is: how can I prove to investors that this is a great deal? What contracts can I sign, what partnerships can I form, which experts should I consult?
Money is a river. It‘s always searching for good deals. It flows to the sea, irresistibly.
