Shrink the Negative and Make Room for the Positive

Notes to Young Leaders | 13 August 2021

Quarantine the negative.

If you receive some disappointing news in the morning, don’t say: “I’m having a bad day.”

The day is long. Why write it off because of one bit of bad news?

Say instead, “I had a bad morning.”

Better still, “I had a bad hour this morning.”

Then make it a habit to say: “I had a bad 5-minutes.”

Shrink the negative into an ever-smaller corner. This will create more room for the positive to enter your day.

And while you’re doing that, play this Perry Como song in the background: https://lnkd.in/g6-8Sx27
