Own the Problems, Focus on What Matters
After a long rant about what was going wrong with his business, a friend of mine recently asked me what he should do.
I replied mischievously: “Whenever I find myself in a situation like this, I play Julio Iglesias’ song: Sin Excusas, Ni Rodeos.” https://lnkd.in/gu4RJses
He looked confounded so I translated: “Without excuses, no detours.”
You are the leader, every problem is at least partly of your own making. Own it. For as long as you’re complaining, you’re not fully owning it. Sin excusas.
And stop getting distracted by lower priorities, focus on the three biggest problems and solve them. For as long as you’re making detours, you are sending yourself and others the message that you’re not absolutely committed to solving the issues that matter. Ni rodeos.
Welcome to leadership: sin excusas, ni rodeos.
