Being Underestimated Is Your Greatest Advantage
A note to young leaders.
Are you being underestimated? Good. See it as a gift.
As Rocky Balboa says to his son: “If you think you deserve better, then go out and get it. But you’ve got to be prepared to take the hits.”
Most people aren’t prepared to take the hits – so they shrink themselves to minimise the target and become resentful in the process.
But if you can take the hits and keep getting up, then you can prove to the world – actually, to yourself – that you are good enough.
And once you know you’re good enough, being underestimated is a great thing.
It affords you the opportunity for surprise.
