There never lived a great leader who was not also a great parent (or potential parent).

If a person doesn’t take a keen, creative and affectionate interest in their children’s development – they may be a rare visionary, they may be a gifted deal-doer, but they are not yet a great leader.

So, if you’re looking to recruit an outstanding leader, make sure you get a chance to see how they interact with their kids and how confident and happy their kids are around them.

If they don’t have kids of their own, watch how they interact with children generally.

Children are the personification of human potential. If you don’t delight in them, you can’t be a great leader.

It’s as simple as that.
