The True Spirit of the Festive Season

A note to young leaders.

The festive season is upon us – so it is good to remember that, for many, it’s not so festive.

In fact, Christmas can be the loneliest time of the year for many.

Christmas is great if you have loving family in close proximity. It’s not so great if your family is fractured or distant or dispersed. At such times, the festive season can remind you of what you DON’T have.

So this festive season, be on the lookout for people in your circle who are without a place or tribe.

Invite them in. Welcome them to your table, your home, your traditions – if only for a day.

In doing so, you will have lived the true spirit of the season.
