Focus on Your Vision, Not the Critics
A note to young leaders.
Don’t be distracted by your detractors.
Churchill got it right when he said: “You’ll never reach your destination if you stop to throw stones at every dog that barks.”
Ask yourself: does fighting and winning this battle bring me closer to my 10-year vision?
Only fight those battles that stand between you and your life’s ambition. Everything else is a distraction.
And ignore any criticism levelled at you by people you wouldn’t ordinarily go to for advice – which, when you pause to reflect, means the vast majority of criticism.
