Harness the Power of Your Mind: Start Your Day Right

Notes to Young Leaders | 23 December 2022

A note to young leaders.

We’ve already spoken about the importance of starting your day with a winning soliloquy. But what can you do to make sure this happens on a consistent basis?

Two things.

Pay attention to your “waking mind” and to your “sleeping mind”.

Your waking mind is your mindset as soon as you wake up. Your sleeping mind is your mindset just before you sleep.

Be careful to control your thoughts immediately before you go to sleep. Think of your long term vision. Send good wishes to all the people you love. If you’re inclined to pray, pray. What you think of last before you sleep will greatly affect what your subconscious mind chews on while you sleep. Give it something inspirational to chew on.

A peaceful and positive sleeping mind will almost always lead to an inspired waking mind.

Always audit your mood as soon as you wake up. If, by chance, you’ve woken up on the wrong side of the bed, give yourself a pep talk.

Either way, remind yourself of how fortunate and blessed you are to be alive at the most exciting time in human history and on the greatest country on earth.

Your mind is a very powerful tool. Make sure you put it to good use
